As a small business owner, you know you need to be growing an email list, but you don’t even know where to start. Even if you have the people to sign up, you don’t know how to get them all subscribed. The process of getting started doesn’t have to be hard or complicated. You don’t even need your own website to get started and it doesn’t have to cost you a dime.
Today, I’ll be walking you through how to set up a landing page, using a free email marketing platform, MailerLite. Now, you will need to sign up for a free account, which MailerLite will then approve, first. You’ll be able to get started before they approve your account as well, you just won’t be able to publish the page until you have gotten approval.
A landing page is a simple, one page, webpage, but you can customize it with pretty much any elements you want. You’ll likely want to add your logo, if you have one. If you don’t, don’t let that stop you; a simple heading with your business name will work just fine. The main component of the landing page that you will need to start your email list is the email subscription form.
Before you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, you should know that one of the reasons I recommend using MailerLite is that they offer pages of free, done-for-you templates, that not only function, but look good too. You will be easily able to customize them to your brand and customer’s tastes, but if the thought of design anything fills you with dread, rest assured that you’ll find something ready-made for you to use that you don’t need to change much at all.
In fact, in this tutorial, I selected a template and edited it very little so you could see how little work it can actually be to get started growing your email today, and for free. After you sign up for your free MailerLite account, follow along with the below video, and I’ll walk you through getting your landing page up and running.
Now your email list is up and running. I’d love to know in the comments below if you found this tutorial helpful and what else you’re struggling with on your entrepreneurial journey.
